CARBON FOOTPRINT NEUTRALITY

Organizations can become carbon neutral by using the credits in Sri Lanka Carbon Offset Scheme or CDM credits.

SRI LANKA CARBON OFFSET SCHEME (SLCOS)

SLCOS is a national offset scheme, which supports local clean projects to benefit from climate finance for the emission reduction or removal of Greenhouse gases (GHG). Purpose of this scheme is to enhance the credibility, transparency and quality of emission reductions efforts within Sri Lanka. Once these projects meets SLCOS eligibility criteria, the projects will be registered at SLCOS systems and eligible to get SCERs (Sri Lankan Certified Emission Reductions) issued. We are also discussing with developed countries to use SCERs to meet their commitments.
